What a difference a year makes…

March 11th, 2010

Welcome to my very first blog entry!

My world changed a year ago today. What I thought would be a routine check up with a doctor turned into something that I could never imagine because God had something else planned for me.

I was admitted into a cancer wing in the Montreal general hospital after an ultrasound projected signs of a tumor. All I could think about at that moment was that I had an early flight to catch with my friends to go to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, so I need to put this on hold. And why not? In this technology that we live in we can DVR everything on television to playback to our own convenience so why couldn’t I pause these events from happening to me? I even asked the doctor who told me that I had a tumor if I could go to Vegas and admit myself in the hospital when I came back but he advised against it. I am a man that needs facts so I point blank asked him if this was a life threatening tumor to which he responded a calm yet affirmative “yes”. At that point I knew that there was no delaying these events, they were real, they were serious and they were happening.

Looking back today, 1 year later, I can honestly say that I am truly blessed and my message is simple. My best friend was my positive attitude. Maintaining that positive vibe rooted from my inner core carried me through this ordeal and I believe that it helped me just as much as my chemo and radiation treatments did. If not more.

The intent for my blog is to create a community where I encourage anyone to email me motivating stories that they want to share with others to spark inspiration and positivity. It is for anyone going through any form of “cancer” in their lives. Email me any good books or movies to see that can help someone out in a dark time. I will be honored to use this platform to serve humanity and collectively we can push each other to live life in the moment and appreciate it to the fullest. I will be sharing my experiences via this blog as well so get ready for a lot of stories because my friends will tell you that I tend to talk a lot!

This is without doubt one of the most fascinating blogs I’ve seen. It’s so painless to tune out, but there’s honestly some first-rate material online, and I think your site is one of the few!
